Opportunity
An optical retailer aimed to enhance the efficiency of store associates in offering insurance customers estimated out-of-pocket prices for glasses and lenses. The existing process, involving gathering customer information on computers and manual entry into the system, proved time-consuming and frustrating. A streamlined solution was sought, enabling associates to easily input insurance details, select preferred lenses and frames, and swiftly provide customers with accurate estimates.

Collaborated with internal partners to conceptualize the user interface of a cutting-edge web app designed for seamless operation by store associates. This innovative web app revolutionized the process of providing out-of-pocket prices for glasses to customers. Store associates could effortlessly input the insurance name, and the app would promptly display the corresponding insurance benefits. The associates could then guide customers through various lens and frame options, presenting a transparent breakdown of the total out-of-pocket price and savings. Notably, the estimator feature efficiently calculated prices for multiple items. The iPad-compatible app empowered associates to move freely around the store, catering to the needs of multiple customers simultaneously.
